Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi is all prepped to conduct the GATE COAP counselling 2020 in the near future. It has officially revealed the notification seeking the eligible candidates who have qualified in the GATE 2018, 2019 and 2020 to participate in the counselling process of GATE COAP 2020. All the eligible candidates will be given admissions into PG programmes in all the participating IITs and ISc Bangalore. COAP Registration 2020
Candidates with qualifying GATE score from last two years along with this appearing year will be able to participate in the counselling of COAP. Candidates need to first register themselves by filling the choices of programs that they want to pursue in their Post-Graduation and also the colleges they want to pursue the course in. The seats will be allotted based on the merit of the candidates in the GATE exam and also the choices filled by the candidates at the time of registration. Also, students need to apply to the institute in which they wish to get admission into after registering for GATE COAP 2020. Candidates can check the result of their seat allotment in the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) that was made by the institute to which they have applied.
The GATE exam is scheduled to be held on February 1, 2, 8 and 9 in online mode. Candidates who have completed the COAP Registration successfully from the official website of COAP i.e., coap.iitd.ac.in can get ready for the admission process. Candidates who haven’t registered yet for the COAP are advised to do it quickly as there is very less time left for the filling process. The admission offers shall be uploaded by the participating institutes in the official portal of COAP itself. So candidates need to keep in touch with that website to know the deets. Candidates shall be offered seats based on the GATE score, cut off marks and also the choices filled.

GATE COAP Eligibility Criteria 2020
Candidates who wants to participate in the COAP 2020 Registration need to check the eligibility criteria first. The criteria should be in terms of what the COAP has set. The eligibility criteria to get admission into any of the IITs is done via 2 processes. One is through COAP and the other is directly applying to the institute in which the candidate want to pursue his/her education.
- In the first scenario, candidates who have graduated from IITs or will be graduating with a valid GATE score and willing to apply for the admission in the participating institutes can apply through COAP.
- In the second scenario, candidates who have graduated from IITs with B.Tech degree and having CGPA of 7.5 and above for SC/ST and 8.0 and above for others can directly apply to the respective institutes for M.Tech. Admission. Those candidates need not register at COAP.
However, in both scenarios, candidates should apply for the respective institutes.

How to Register for GATE COAP 2020
Students need to first complete the GATE COAP 2020 Registration before thinking about anything else. If you are a newbie and are unaware of the process to register for GATE COAP then we have provided here the step by step process of the same in detail. Give it a look!
Step-1: Registration
In the registration step, applicants have to provide details about the GATE paper they have qualified along with their “Date of Birth”. Also, candidates need to input the following details while registering.
- GATE Registration Number
- GATE Paper Code
- GATE Score
- Date of Birth
After entering all the details candidates need to click on “Validate” button to submit the registration form.
Step-2: Provide email address and mobile phone number
In this step candidates need to submit their email address and mobile number. They are provided so that the updates from the COAP will be sent to the registered mobile number and email by the exam body. Also, the login and password deets shall be forwarded to them only. So enter those details and click on the Submit button after that.
After providing the mobile number and email address, candidates will receive login information to them. Keep a copy of the login details with you for future use.
Step-3: Login and verify details
Now as the login details are forwarded to the candidate, he/she need to verify the details provided and also enter further details like GATE score and all.
Step-4: Final submission
After successfully verifying all the details, candidates have to submit the GATE COAP 2020 registration form. Candidates need to note that corrections post submission of the form are not entertained. So, verify every detail carefully before submission itself.
Step-5: Apply for Institute
Now candidates need to apply for the institute in which they are willing to attain admission into.
That’s it! The registration as well as choosing the institution is successfully completed. There is no COAP Registration Fee as such incurred. So candidates need not fret on that front.
Check Admission Offers through COAP 2020 Portal
To check the admission offers through COAP 2020 portal, candidates need to login with their credentials and check the seat allotment status from the official web portal of COAP. The steps to check the admission offers are given here.
- Visit the official website of COAP.
- Login using the ID and password.
- Click on the ‘Seat Allotment’ button.
- Students will see a list of institutes that have allotted seats to the students.
- You can check the institute you have applied for your name.
- You have to confirm the seat allotment with ‘Accept and Freeze’ and Reject the allotment by clicking on ‘Reject and Wait’, ‘Retain and Wait’, and ‘Reject’.
